Practical competence, clearly structured

The course develops practical competence for deciding when a ladder is suitable, selecting the correct type and material, completing pre-use checks, setting the ladder on a stable surface, controlling access around it and maintaining safe contact while climbing and working.

One-day course

The source programme runs from 09:00 to 17:00 with theory, discussion and practical exercises.

EN 131 ladder families

Covers terms, requirements, user instructions, hinged ladders, telescopic ladders and mobile ladders with platforms.

Inspection before use

Participants learn a structured check of stiles, rungs, fixings, hinges, locks, feet, guides and platforms.

Positioning and securing

Includes the 75° / 4:1 rule, stable ground, exclusion zones and methods of securing a ladder.

Koliko traje kurs?

Does the training cover mobile ladders with platforms?

Yes. The syllabus references EN 131-7 for mobile ladders with platforms and includes selection, inspection, stability and safe-use principles.

What angle is used for a leaning ladder?

The course teaches approximately 75 degrees, commonly described as the 4:1 rule: one unit out for every four units of vertical height.

What happens if a defect is found during inspection?

The presentation states that the ladder must not be used when the inspection identifies a fault.
